From Brian Howden
It is with great sadness that we have heard today that our dear sister, friend and colleague in the work of the Lord has been called home to be with her Lord and Saviour.
Ruth left Angola in December 2016 returning to the UK for treatment for an aggressive cancer. After enduring chemotherapy and radiotherapy Ruth’s condition deteriorated and she finally entered into the presence of her Lord whom she had served so faithfully in Angola for 34 years.
She leaves an example of faithful and consecrated service to the Lord and the people of Angola, dedicated to the work of the Gospel and generous in her love to all.
Please remember her family in the UK, and her spiritual children in their hundreds who mourn her passing in Angola. Also please continue to remember the work of the Primary School at Camundambala which she started in 2006 and of which she has been such an enormous and vital part.
Today we have lost a fellow laborer with whom we worked closely for over 21 years, who truly had “The care of all the churches” at heart and one with whom we could truly share in the joys and tears of the Gospel. We will miss her greatly.
As we salute her memory and give thanks for her life, the work of the Gospel goes on in that needy land, the Lord’s command is still “Go ye into all the world” and Ruth’s life of sacrificial service is a challenge to another generation to pick up the baton of testimony.
