We had to leave the conference in Moba early as the truck carrying 1100 Swahili Bibles hadn't arrived. We found it broken down a full days journey from Moba with no hope of repair. The Bibles were unloaded into two other vehicles and sent up to the conference. Please pray for those that have recieved the Bibles and also for the 193 that were baptised after the conference. Sadly I missed that but it was worth it to get the Bibles there.
The last week has been spent in Luanza with Bible teaching, gospel preaching and visition each day. The Lord Himself can measure the fruitfulness of the time but it had been extremely encouraging.
Prayer would be appreciated for;
Kikunda. He was saved last year and is living alone as his wife kombe left him 4 years ago. Kombe has now made a profession but there are some serious issues to work through and time will tell whether she has truly believed. Kikunda was a witch doctor this time last year and to break bread with him last Sunday was very special.
The church in Luanza. They've had a difficult few months and many have stopped attending. Numbers grew steadily during the week of ministry meetings but wisdom is needed for the elders there as they try to work through some significant problems.
The village of Tulombe. 2 women made professions of faith there after open air preaching in the village. During follow up Bible studies they invited friends and neighbours to hear the gospel. Another man has trusted the Lord and others are showing interest. There was also opportunity to speak to a man called Muleya who is the brother of one of those who professed to be saved. I have never been so conscious of the presence of evil and in due course he told us he was demon possessed. He continually quoted scriptures referring to election and was insistant he was not called and could not be saved. The Lord gave us boldness and he was left in no doubt that he is without excuse.
Louis. A six year old boy that we found in a village. He's severely malnourished and may not survive but thanks to the kindness of folks from home we've sent him to a hospital where he has been put on a feeding program for one year.
The literature work. Word is spreading that Bibles, hymn books and books are now available in the area. Please pray for Moise and others who will be overseeing this work.
