The Assembly here in Wick began three weeks of Gospel Meetings with David McKillen on Lord’s Day evening. We are trying something different in as much as the meetings are themed around future events with a different subject each evening. We had great help from around a dozen young people who walked their socks off and enabled us to tract Wick, as well as the surrounding villages, in advance of the preaching starting.
We had around half a dozen folks not normally with us at the meeting last night, albeit some of them would be believers. We would very much appreciate prayer, in particular for the following matters:
We have found it easier in the past to preach in a neutral hall or venue. However, for a variety of reasons, nothing suitable was available. Please pray that local folks would still come in.
Please pray for David that he will be able to communicate the Gospel clearly and powerfully each evening.
Please pray for children of believers in the assembly who in some cases are adults and refuse to attend.
Please pray that some of our semi-regular “special meetings” attenders would be convicted and settle down to attend and be saved.
We have been sobered in that in several series we have had in Wick in recent years there have been folk we knew of who appeared to be under conviction but passed into eternity relatively shortly after the preaching finished. Time is short.”
