It was good to spend a couple of weeks in the Pacific region visiting assemblies in Fiji and Tonga. My son David and I enjoyed the warm hospitality and fellowship of the saints and had opportunities to teach the scriptures, do some radio broadcasts, introduce the Bible Class app and ministry to a wide audience, learn more of the work in the area and meet saints from other islands such as American Samoa.
Many of the assemblies in this region are geographically isolated and as a result suffer from a lack of Bible teaching. There is a great need for straightforward consecutive verse by verse exposition of the Scriptures. In terms of hospitality, care for people, good works in their communities and basic sincere love for Christ there is much that these saints can teach me.
I had the joy of meeting a maturing group of younger saints in Suva, Fiji. Each them is fatherless for a number of reasons yet they have been taken in by the Samabula assembly and are growing together in their walk with the Lord. I was impressed by their commitment to the things of the Lord and His assembly.
