On a Friday morning at Hope Hall in Bridge of Weir we have a work called "Stepping Stones". It is a toddlers work run by the sisters of the assembly and has become an excellent point of contact with mothers, fathers and grandparents in the village.
We have a combination of older and younger sisters who work well together. There is usually 3 of the "more mature" sisters working in the kitchen keeping the tea, coffee and home bakes flowing. 3 or 4 of the younger sisters are"front of house" chatting to the people who come.
We have had to have a waiting list for people as the work has proved so popular we can't accommodate everyone. On Friday we had 42 children and 31 adults come to the hall.
We have discovered that this work brings people into the hall who otherwise would not have thought of coming over the threshhold of the hall.
If you have such a work you will know the effort required is great but it is a worthwhile endeavour.
