Over the last 4 summers we have organised an outreach amongst young men in Perth which very simply involves a game of football followed by refreshments and a short Gospel message.
During this period over 200 different lads from around the city have attended (including more than 70 this summer), with around 20-30 coming along on average each week. The main age range is mid teens to late twenties but we have a few younger and older ones who come along too. Behaviour and respect for the Gospel have improved over the years and this summer there has been good attention given as the way of salvation has been presented each week.
At the end of each season we always have an awards night. It is an informal evening involving a few different activities and some food. This year 24 young folk attended the prizegiving and they listened attentively as our guest speaker Blair Martin shared the Gospel with them. We count it a privilege to have such regular contact with these lads and would appreciate prayer for them as they consider what they’ve heard over the course of another year.
