We have now finished the three day conference in Kolwezi which went very well. The town is a big mining town so there is more development and as a result more Bibles and more educated believers. The conference had been arranged for elders, deacons and their wives. Some who have responsibility for leading youth work, outreach and other activates also attended. After teaching on a specific subject we split those in attendance into smaller groups for discussion and Bible study. There was a lot of participation and many difficult questions were raised. The need for basic teaching was again very obvious as all too often cultural practices and traditions are raised up over what the Bible teaches. Whilst there were more people with Bibles in Kolwezi, even some of the elders had “Jehovah’s Witnesses” Bibles and that is frustrating to see. I have received word today that the Swahili Congo Bible is going back into print and that is very good news. Please pray we are able to get a good number of these shipped out and into the hands of those who need them most.
