If it was 12 years since I was at Shetland Camp it was a whole lot longer since I was a leader at TCYC Junior Camp. I was 18 years old and the camp was held in Aberdeen. Along with other Camps, TCYC Juniors is held at Faskally House and is a well established and well run Christian Camp for children 9-12ish. I thoroughly enjoyed being a leader again but felt every one of my 46 years. It is an intense week for leaders as they have to be with the children all the time and the activities run all day.
Gordon McCracken was the speaker this year and was at his usual standard which means the meetings were excellent. The Camp has leaders, helpers, an outstanding kitchen team and a new management team. It is a great work for God and a joy to be part of it. Listening to the young leaders pray and serve the Campers every day is a tonic.
The 7 Camps which will occupy Faskally House during these Summer school holidays also all benefit from the very good work done by the Faskally Trust and their employees, Colin and Alison Connell who have the house prepared to a very high standard all year round.
