During the week we were visited by two elders from an assembly at the other side of Lubumbashi. They came with a letter saying they had a desire to grow in the scriptures and asked if Murray and I would come and teach this Lord's Day. A very eager deacon from the assembly arrived at the house at 7am this morning to make sure we knew where we were going!
This part of the country is peaceful at the moment but the military are causing problems after dark in some areas of the city. Last night a teenage boy was killed by the military two streets away from the assembly we visited today.
Murray and I both spoke today and there was a good response to the word. Murray spoke on the subject of fear and it resonated powerfully with the believers. Even in the city many are not free from the fear of witchcraft and death. After he spoke an older sister crawled to the front of the hall and on her knees confessed sin to the Lord and to the assembly. There seems to be a readiness to respond to the word here and that is refreshing to see.
