I am flying out to Jakarta today and then onto Kalimantan (Borneo) with my good friend Adam Benny. It has been a few years since I was in Borneo and travelled with Benny and some of the other believers to their home villages in the centre of Kalimantan. I have travelled into these remote areas twice and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. It was a great joy to take the Gospel literature and personal preaching and testimonies by motorbikes into the jungle.
On this occasion I have a single aim for our visit and it is to find and speak to a brother who accompanied me on these trips but who has backslidden from the Lord. His story is complicated but he is working in the gold mines in Kalimantan and I want to find him and speak to him. I have wanted to make this trip for a couple of years now and am very glad I have this opportunity.
After we come back from Borneo to Jakarta we are having a weekend of Bible teaching at a campsite. I am not sure if the conditions will be as luxurious as Auchenfoyle and I doubt the cakes will be as magnificent but the interest in the scriptures will be just the same.
