Bible Class

Jonny Renfrew and Sarah Hutton

Stephen Grant

Jonny Renfrew from Renfrew assembly (no kidding) and Sarah Hutton from Kilnside in Paisley are visiting Ian and Marilyn Campbell in Chingola, Zambia. Jonny sent me an update on their trip.

Sarah and I have been getting an insight of what life is like for Ian and Marilyn. We have been doing work at the Bible Centre they run, marking Bible courses and tests which students have been completing! We have also been visiting different markets with Ian where he sells Bibles and has a Bible stall he sets up giving people a chance to receive the word!

We also visited a prison work shop where we had the opportunity to speak with prisoners who are doing Bible courses. It was encouraging to see the guys wanting to learn more about the Word. It also gave us a chance to speak with them and explain the gospel which was great! Sarah and I have been involved in the Christian school, Sarah has been helping in the girls dorm and she has also been helping in a few of the classes. I have been doing P.E for the primary classes and have been helping the secondary school P.E teacher (who is also an elder at Ian and Marilyn's church) which has been great fun!

I have also been going to the Christian orphanage each day from 5-8pm to relate with the boys there. It's been good fun becoming good friends with them all! I have also been doing Bible studies each night with the boys and have been getting good discussions about different subjects. I have been praying a lot for these boys and hope they draw close to the Lord! Overall we have been very busy and I feel personally very close to the Lord. It's encouraging to see the Lord's work been done out here and so many people responding and eager to learn more about God's Word! The church that Ian and Marilyn go to is great. On Sunday there was around 200 people at the Gospel service and around 50 at the breaking of bread. It was amazing!

Sarah and I have met a few of the youth and are attending a youth event this afternoon to have some games and have some fellowship, should be good fun!
