I have visited some of the assemblies in Fiji on a few occasions and love the warmth and joy of the believers. The assembly at Samabula in Suva is running a kids club this week and I thought it would be good to get a glimpse of kids work on the other side of the world. I have developed a lovely relationship with a few of the assemblies in Fiji despite the initial surprise of breaking bread with men in skirts, ironic since I am a Scotsman.
A note from Suva ….. "The first day of the kids club program was a success with 67 children, including 6 deaf children. Beginning with a singalong, games, bible lessons, morning tea, games and ending with lunch. The numbers have grown and on our 3rd day we have had 106 children.
Many know the story of Jonah being swallowed by a big fish, but who was Jonah and why was he swallowed? The focus of this 1st Term Holiday Bible School is to go through the book of Jonah to get insight into who Jonah was and who God is and why He should be obeyed. The study will prompt personal examination into attitudes and obedience. The study will conclude with a look at “the sign of Jonah,” pointing to Jesus’ death and resurrection".
